1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how DULA (a product of Bele Technologies (Pty) Ltd, registration number BW00006518156) uses cookies, mobile SDKs, and similar tracking technologies on dulabw.com and in the DULA mobile application (together, the "Platform"). It should be read together with the DULA Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal data in accordance with Botswana's Data Protection Act, 2024 (Act No. 18 of 2024).

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, which allow the site to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. The DULA mobile application uses comparable technologies — software development kits (SDKs), device identifiers, and push notification tokens — to achieve similar functions within the app.

3. Categories of Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

3.1 Strictly necessary

Required for the Platform to function — for example, keeping you logged in, remembering items in an enquiry, and securing your session. These cannot be switched off, as the Platform will not work correctly without them.

3.2 Functional

Remember your preferences on return visits, such as language, saved searches, and Digital Address defaults.

3.3 Performance and analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the Platform — which pages or screens are viewed, how long users stay, and where they encounter errors — so we can improve the Platform. These are set only with your consent, where required by the Act.

3.4 Marketing

DULA does not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site marketing cookies. If this changes, this Policy will be updated and, where required, your consent will be requested before any such cookie is set.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

  • On first visiting dulabw.com, you will be shown a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential (functional and analytics) cookies.
  • You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie preference link in the Platform footer, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.
  • In the DULA mobile app, you can manage analytics and notification permissions through your device's application settings.
  • Declining non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the core features of the Platform, but may affect certain personalisation features.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies and SDKs referenced in Section 4 are set by third-party service providers (for example, Google, for analytics) who process data on our behalf, including in some cases outside Botswana. Where this occurs, we take the steps required by Part XIV of the Data Protection Act, 2024, and, under Section 76, where the Commission has not recognised the destination country as providing adequate protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) that preserve enforceable data-subject rights and legal remedies. We encourage you to review the respective privacy and cookie policies of these third parties.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use, or in applicable law. The "Last Reviewed" date at the top of this document indicates when it was last updated.
